Youth found dead in Dahanu
Thane, May 27: Mystery shrouds the death of a 28-year-old youth, whose body was found in a culvert last night in Dahanu taluka of Thane district of Maharashtra.
According to police, Lalit Ashok Karnawat had left house around 0600 hrs as usual. The local police received message late in the evening that a body was floating in the culvert.
The police recovered the body last night and found that there were marks of injuries on the face and bullet marks on the person of the deceased.
A pistol, loaded with cartridges, was recovered from a nearby locality.
PSI S A JaIne of the Dahanu police station, who is investigating the case, said a case of murder has been registered and further investigations were on.
